Congratulatory Message from Prime Minister KISHIDA to Prime Minister Benediktsson of Iceland

On May 7, Prime Minister Fumio Kishida sent a Congratulatory message to H.E. Mr. Bjarni Benediktsson, Prime Minister of Iceland.
 
In the letter, Prime Minister Kishida extended his congratulations to Prime Minister Benediktsson, and conveyed his willingness to further deepen cooperation with Iceland, as an important partner for maintaining and strengthening the free and open international order based on the rule of law, including the realization of a "Free and Open Indo-Pacific." Prime Minister Kishida also expressed his intention to further develop bilateral relations in a wide range of fields, including the Arctic, sustainable use of marine resources, renewable energy, and women's empowerment, as well as cooperation with the five Nordic countries.
